Man struck by LIRR train Friday evening near Woodside
An unidentified man was hit by a Long Island Rail Road train about 6:40 p.m. Friday evening, just west of the Woodside station.
The train was eastbound to Port Washington. Trains were back on or close to schedule by 10 p.m. according to a LIRR spokesman, who said the victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
No information was immediately available on the man's identity or condition....
