An armed North Bellmore man was arrested on Saturday night in a reported shoplifting in Massapequa, Nassau County police said.

Police said Walmart store security officers observed Alexander Hollinsworth, 25, taking DVDs and CDs from the store, at 200 Sunrise Mall, then leaving without paying. Store security followed Hollinsworth out of the store, brought him back in, and called police, who responded around 9:15 p.m.

Police arrived and arrested Hollinsworth, who they said had a loaded .38 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun that had been reported stolen in New York City, metal knuckles, a dagger knife, and prescription pills in a plastic bag in his pocket.
