Mineola gas station robbed at gunpoint

An employee at a Mineola gas station was robbed at gunpoint early Sunday morning, Nassau police said.

The 24-year-old employee was at the Citgo gas station at 2 Jericho Tpke. when a man wearing black approached him at 4:10 a.m., police said.

The suspect showed the employee a black handgun and demanded money from the register, which the victim gave him, police said.

The suspect then ran east on Jericho Turnpike with money and cigarettes. The victim was not injured.

Police said the suspect was described as 25 to 30 years old and 5'8" tall.
