Mother goose and goslings cross LIE

Nassau and Suffolk County police responded to a scene on the LIE near Exit 48 in Plainview where they rescued a mother goose and several of its goslings after they crossed over the eastbound lanes at about 9:14 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2014. The geese stopped at the divider. Both police agencies assisted in closing off lanes of traffic, as a Suffolk County police highway patrol officer brought a box to the location to corral the goslings.
