Police said officers are searching for the driver -- and, possibly, occupants -- of a car discovered overturned early Tuesday morning near an intersection in Farmingdale.

The incident was reported at about 5:30 a.m.

Nassau County police said officers discovered the vehicle, overturned, near the intersection of Elm Drive and Hempstead Turnpike but that the car was unoccupied.

Police said it was not clear if people in the car fled -- or if someone was possibly injured and went to seek help.
