A late-night robbery of a Franklin Square gas station at gunpoint on Tuesday is being investigated, the Nassau County police said.
A 52-year-old employee at the Star gas station at 740 Hempstead Turnpike complied with a demand for cash made by the suspect who had displayed a black hand gun, the police said in a statement.
The robber, who is 20 years to 30 years old, and was clad in an orange T-shirt, dark jeans, and a baseball cap, then fled on foot, heading west on Hempstead, police said.
No injuries were reported in the robbery, which occurred at 11:32 p.m.
