A man was struck and killed by a Long Island Rail Road train early Tuesday at the Mineola station, a spokesman for the commuter service said.

George Hahn, 66, of Mineola, was hit just after 8:40 a.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene, said LIRR spokesman Salvatore Arena.

No other details were immediately available, he said, and the investigation was ongoing.

The crash, coupled with a derailment of an unoccupied train late Monday in Queens near Rego Park and Forest Hills, disrupted railroad service.
