Two Brooklyn men face robbery charges in the theft of clothing from a Macy's department store in Hicksville on Friday afternoon, police said.

Security guards at the store allegedly saw Theodis A. Cole, 36, of 601 Albany Ave., and Omar O. Sharpe, 36, of 607 Rutland Rd., concealing clothing in a bag at the store just before 4 p.m.

As the two men exited the store, at 100 Broadway Mall, two security guards chased them in the parking lot in an attempt to detain them, police said.

Sharpe fled with the proceeds on foot southbound through the parking lot, police said, while Cole blocked the security officers from stopping Sharpe.

As the security officers were escorting Cole back to Macy's, he began to kick and punch one of them causing a minor cuts to his hand, police said.

Then, officers from Nassau County police's Second Precinct arrived and arrested Cole.

Bureau of Special Operations officers responded to the Hicksville LIRR station where they located Sharp and placed him under arrest without incident.

The stolen clothing was recovered, police said.

The defendants will be arraigned on second-degree robbery charges Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead.
