Person struck on Babylon line, train delays

Long Island Rail Road trains on the Babylon line were halted briefly at Seaford Sunday afternoon after a Babylon-bound train struck a person on the tracks.

The incident, which occurred at 2:20 p.m., involved the 1:10 p.m. train from Penn Station, which struck the person in Seaford, MTA spokeswoman Margie Anders said.

The person was taken by emergency crews at 2:40 p.m., and service was restored on a single track with delays of up to 30 minutes.

No further information was immediately available.
