Nassau police investigate the scene of a fatal police-involved shooting on Bayside Avenue on Tuesday in Point Lookout. (Aug. 30, 2011)

Point Lookout shooting

Kurt Doerbecker, 23, of Point Lookout, was shot and killed by a Nassau police officer on Aug. 30, 2011. In 2012, a DA report concluded the shooting was "entirely justified." Police say Doerbecker was a suspected burglar who ran toward officers with a knife after climbing out a back window of his home.
