Police: 2 men rob Valley Stream bank

Two men robbed a Valley Stream bank before fleeing on foot Sunday afternoon, Nassau County police said.

Officers were called to the TD Bank, 275 W. Merrick Rd., at 1:15 p.m., authorities said.

After the assailants entered the building, one approached a teller and handed over a demand note as the second suspect sat in the customer service area, police said.

The teller gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

Five employees and eight customers were in the bank during the robbery, but no injuries were reported, officers said.

The robbers fled on foot eastbound on West Merrick Road. Anyone with information is asked to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
