Police: Hempstead man tried to steal home's copper pipe
A Hempstead Village man was arrested early Friday morning and charged with stealing copper pipe from a residential basement with the intent of selling it for scrap, police said.
An accomplice is still being sought, police said.
Exantheras Nunn, 53, of 366 Greenwich St., Hempstead, entered a home under renovation on Laurel Avenue and cut the copper pipes, police said.
