Three men used a BB gun to rob three people of their wallets and cellphones early Tuesday in Baldwin, Nassau County police said.

A man, 23, and two women, both 21, were on Barth Drive at about 12:06 a.m. when they were approached by three men, police said.

One of the men displayed what appeared to be a handgun and the three victims were ordered to empty their pockets and lie on the ground.

The men took the wallets and cellphones and ran off, police said.

Officers from the First Precinct and Special Operations responded to the scene and found three men in a 2008 Volkswagen Passat.

Police stopped the car on N. Brookside Road in Freeport and arrested the three men. The victims' wallets and phones along with a BB gun were recovered, police said.

Arrested on charges of second-degree robbery were James A. Jackson, 18 of 150 McKay Rd., Huntington Station; Daniel C. Kareem, 18, of 1543 Victoria St., Baldwin; and Dominick A. Etienne, 18, of 188 Mount Joy Ave., Freeport.

Jackson and Etienne also are charged with criminal possession of stolen property.

Each is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
