Police said they are searching for a man who slashed the face of another man during an argument outside a restaurant in Westbury early Sunday morning.

The incident took place outside the Romelia Sabor Latino restaurant on Union Avenue at about 1:20 a.m., Nassau County police said. The victim, whose identity was not released, was slashed "across the face, left arm and back" with a razor or a knife and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police said the incident started with "an altercation" between the victim and a woman outside the restaurant and said a second man then slashed the victim with either a razor or a knife. The assailant then fled.
