Nassau police arrested a Roosevelt man Wednesday in connection with the robbery of three male victims he met on a dating website after he offered to perform a sex act on an undercover officer in exchange for money, authorities said.
Marquise J. Utsey, 22, was charged with three counts of first-degree robbery and prostitution after his arrest at about 4:15 p.m. on Park Avenue near the Valentine Street intersection in Roosevelt, Nassau police said.
He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
Utsey was arrested after Nassau undercover officers, searching for the suspect in the robberies, contacted him by the screen name he used on a gay dating website where he met the victims, police said. The victims gave the police the screen name.
Starting on Dec. 29 and ending Jan. 3, Utsey is accused of robbing the victims by threatening two of them with either a gun or a knife and snatching the third man's phone, police said. Utsey showed a knife but not a gun, police said. No injuries were reported in any of the incidents, police said.
He was arrested Wednesday without incident, police said.
Any additional victims of similar incidents are asked to contact the First Squad at 516-573-6152.
