A Brooklyn woman was arrested on assault charges after she discharged pepper spray in the face of a cabdriver Wednesday during a disagreement in Westbury, Nassau County police said.

Hadeya Johnson, 30, of 286 Eldert St. in Bushwick, allegedly sprayed the self-defense chemical in the face of a Taxi Latino driver at about 3:50 p.m., police said.

Johnson entered the cab in Westbury and told the driver, 23, to take her to Uniondale, police said.

But when she asked the driver to stop at a McDonald's in Westbury, the driver asked her to pay her fare before going into the restaurant, according to a news release from police.

Johnson refused, and the two argued, police said. The driver told Johnson to get out of the cab, and as he opened a rear door for her, "she sprayed him in the face and eyes" with pepper spray, the release said.

The victim was treated at a hospital for chemical burns to his face and eyes and released, police said.

Johnson was arrested at the scene and was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday on charges of assault, criminal possession of a weapon and disorderly conduct at First District Court in Hempstead.
