Police: Woman struck by car in Woodmere

A woman was airlifted to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow after being struck by a car in Woodmere late Monday afternoon, police said.

The identity of the woman was not released.

The extent of her injuries -- and, her condition -- were not immediately known Tuesday.

Nassau County police said the accident occurred about 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of West Broadway and Woodmere Boulevard. The woman, a pedestrian, was struck by a 2004 Toyota. The identity of the driver was not released.

Police said no charges were filed in the crash. The investigation into the accident is continuing.
