The passenger of a car that slammed into a parked tractor trailer early Sunday was killed and the driver arrested, Nassau County police said.

Asya Ulmer, 21, of 512 Clinton Ave., Rockville Centre, faces charges of second-degree vehicular manslaughter and driving while intoxicated.

Police said she was driving a 2000 BMW north on North Centre Avenue in Rockville Centre about 5:50 a.m. when she hit a tractor trailer parked near Meehan Lane.

The impact killed her passenger, Jennifer Alexis, 21, of Bayside, Queens, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

A woman who answered the phone at Alexis' house said she was too upset to comment.

Ulmer, who complained of pain, was taken to South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside, police said.

Ulmer was scheduled to be arraigned Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.

Police said the investigation is continuing.
