Scientists: Dolphins' local swim a good sign for LI
The bottlenose dolphins that swam into the Long Island Sound while they chased fish are a good sign that the Sound's waters are clean and well stocked with herring, scientists said Monday.
Some fishermen and scientists said it has been 30 or more years since they'd seen bottlenose dolphins in the Sound in the summertime, and experts agree that the marine mammals came here following food....
