Cops probe damage at Oceanside country club

Nassau County police are trying to determine who broke into an Oceanside country club early Saturday and drove its golf carts across the course and landscaping, causing approximately $75,000 in damages.

Fourth Squad detectives said at least one person pried open a garage door at the golf cart building at the South Bay Country Club at 3600 Skillman Ave. at about 5:50 a.m.

"The golf carts were removed and used around the golf course, causing damage to the carts, fences, and railings," according to a news release.
