Suspect sought in burglary attempt of Manhasset home

Authorities are investigating an attempted burglary of a Manhasset home on Friday, Nassau County police said Saturday.

A 75-year-old woman was upstairs in her Chapel Road home when she heard a loud noise around 6:28 p.m., police said.

The woman ran downstairs and saw that someone had kicked in her front door. The suspect ran away, heading west on Chapel, police said.

No injuries were reported.

The department's Third Squad is handling the investigation.
