Two Uniondale men and a juvenile are facing robbery charges after police said they stole cash from a teenager in the bathroom of the Sunrise Mall in Massapequa on Friday night.
The 16-year-old male victim and a friend entered the bathroom about 9:30 p.m. and were confronted by suspects later identified as Enrique Rivas, 19, of Hawthorn Avenue, Kevin Allen, 19, of Greengrove Avenue, and the male juvenile, who was not named because of his age, authorities said.
The three suspects pushed the victim against a wall while Allen took $20 from the teen's pocket, police said.
When the suspects left the bathroom, the victim and his friend attempted to locate mall security. But the three suspects again approached the victim, and the juvenile unsuccessfully attempted to take the teen's cellphone, police said.
The suspects exited the mall, located at 850 Sunrise Hwy., but were located by police from the Seventh Precinct a short time later. There were no injuries reported.
Rivas, Allen and the juvenile were charged with second-degree robbery and second-degree attempted robbery. Rivas and Allen were scheduled to be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead. The juvenile is to appear in Nassau Family Court in Westbury on Monday.
