Three LIRR workers charged in copper wire theft

Three Long Island Rail Road signal workers accused of stealing thousands of pounds of copper wire from the railroad and selling it for scrap, according to authorities, were charged on March 21, 2014, with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.
