Two Baldwin men were arrested Saturday morning in connection with a series of attempted burglaries in Merrick, Nassau County police said.
Police said a witness reported seeing Eric A. Bailey, 18, and Kyle Mcvea, 20, standing on the front porch of a house on Wynsum Avenue. When police arrived, they said they found Bailey and Mcvea standing on the corner of Wynsum Avenue and Elliott Street, and determined that the two had tried to enter two other homes on Wynsum Avenue as well as houses on Narwood Court and Hewlett and Mansfield avenues.
Police said nothing was taken from the homes.
Bailey and Mcvea were arrested at 11:11 a.m. and each charged with six counts of second-degree attempted burglary.
At their arraignments on Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead, Bailey was ordered held on $6,000 bond or cash bail, and Mcvea was ordered held on $3,000 bond or cash bail. Both are due back in court on Wednesday.
