An 18-year-old man was in "extremely critical condition" Wednesday, struck by a car as he crossed Earle Ovington Boulevard near Charles Lindbergh Boulevard in Uniondale, police said.
Nassau County police did not release the identity of the driver or the victim.
The crash occurred Tuesday at 9:18 p.m., police said.
Police said the victim was crossing the road, which runs between the Nassau Coliseum property and Hofstra University just south of Nassau Community College, when he was struck by a northbound 2013 Infiniti G37 driven by a 19-year-old. The driver, identified only as male, was not injured.
It was not clear if the driver or the victim were students.
Police said the victim suffered head trauma and was taken to a hospital by police ambulance.
A breath-analyzer test was administered at the scene with "negative results" and the driver was not charged, police said. The car was impounded for a safety check.
