Bloomberg gets cheeky

Maybe Mayor Michael Bloomberg should consider a job in construction after he leaves City Hall.

In a New York magazine story this week about Christine Quinn, one passage described the mayor being commended on his gun stance, but ignored the compliment to admire a woman "in a very tight floor-length grown."

"Look at the a -- on her," the mayor remarked.

The mysterious woman's rear end wasn't the only things that sparked the mayor's interest, according to the piece. Quinn, who is mulling a run to succeed Bloomberg, said the mayor is not fond of flats and annoys her when he jokes about her hair coloring

"When I am rooting . . . like, the couple of days a week before I need to get my hair colored, he'll say, 'Do you pay a lot to make your hair be two colors? Because now it's three with the gray,'" Quinn said.

The speaker said she return the mayor's quip with her own colorful metaphor.

The mayor's office and speaker didn't return messages for comment on the New York magazine piece, despite it making the rounds on the blogs.

This isn't the first time that the mayor publicly put his foot in his mouth.

Bloomberg apologized to Dr. Robert C. Atkins's widow in 2004 after he called the health expert's diet bull***. He was later videotaped calling a reporter a "disgrace" after he asked a question about the mayor's plan to remove term limits in 2009.

The cover story in the this week's issue of New York Magazine about City Council Speaker Christine Quinn showed off a hizzoner's flirty side. The article's writer said he commended Bloomberg on his gun control advocacy at a Christmas party but the mayor was busy checking out
