The district proposes a $109,702,140 budget for 2015-16, a 1.55 percent increase from the current $108,025,843. The local tax levy would increase 2.13 percent, from $83,372,366 to $85,149,418.

This increase is equal to the state's tax-cap limit of 2.13 percent, so a simple majority vote will be required to approve the budget. School taxes on the average single-family home would change as follows: in District 13, down 2.49 percent from $3,452.72 to $3,366.89; District 24, up 0.09 percent from $2,900.34 to $2,902.93; and District 30, up 0.31 percent from $3,237.14 to $3,247.22.

The proposed budget includes a referendum that proposes a capital reserve proposition for $2,500,000 for renovations to bathroom facilities, doors and other needs. The expenditure will not exceed the district cap.

Under the proposed budget, teachers will receive a 0.85 percent increase in salary, including a 1.29 percent step increase. Additional hires include two teachers to meet new Part 154 regulations for English language learners. Further, the district would restore three student clubs per school and restore the air rifle team. Staff hires would include a part-time social worker, two psychologists and three guidance counselors. Deans would be restored to full-time status.
