Vehicle hits crossing guard in Farmingdale

A crossing guard was taken to a nearby hospital after being "grazed" by a car Wednesday in Farmingdale, Nassau County police said.

The female guard was grazed by a passing car at about 8:49 a.m., at Melville Road and Main Street, a police spokesman said.

Police determined no criminality was involved. "It sounds as if the car just grazed her," the spokesman said.
