Weakened Ida pounds the Island
The tattered ends of the downgraded Tropical Storm Ida managed to bring nor'easter winds topping 40 mph and rain to Long Island through Saturday morning, causing beach erosion and some power outages but no significant residential flooding, officials and the National Weather Service said.
