A man leaving a lounge in Westbury was pistol-whipped by an unknown gunman who then stole his gold chain and two iPhones before fleeing into a waiting car early Friday, Nassau police said.

Police said the victim, identified only as a 32-year-old man, sustained a contusion and swelling to the top of his head -- but he declined medical attention at the scene.

The robbery took place on Post Avenue at about 1:20 a.m., moments after the victim left the Chi Lounge, police said.

A man approached the victim, displayed a black automatic handgun -- and hit the victim on the top of the head with it, police said.

Then he "ripped a gold chain" from the victim's neck and stole his phones, police said.

The gunman then fled to a car waiting on Madison Street, police said. It was last seen headed toward Post Avenue.

Police said the gunman was about 6-foot-1, 215 pounds and was wearing a black T-shirt with YSL on the front.

He also wore black shorts with red stripes, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
