Woman, 68, killed while crossing Hempstead Turnpike
A pedestrian was struck by a car and killed Tuesday night while crossing the street at a busy commercial intersection in East Meadow, police said.
Purabi Nandi, 68, of East Meadow, was crossing Hempstead Turnpike at Newbridge Road shortly before 10 p.m. when the car hit her, police said.
