Woman charged in multiple Hempstead burglaries

A 23-year-old woman was arrested Monday and charged with multiple burglaries this year in Hempstead, Nassau police said.

Shamasia M. Moore, of no known address, was arrested and charged with five counts of second degree burglary and one count of second degree attempted burglary.

Nassau police charged that Moore on Feb. 15, took a laptop from a Linden Street home; on March 13, took jewelry and electronics from a Woodfield Road home; on March 20, took jewelry and other property from a Lincoln Avenue home; on April 5, took electronic equipment from a Mulberry Lane home.; on April 11 attempted to enter a Collins Lane home, but stopped after the home's alarm was activated; and on April 17, took jewelry from a Hempstead Gardens Drive home.

Moore was to be arraigned Tuesday in First District Court, Hempstead.
