A 78-year-old woman getting out of her car at a North Massapequa parking lot was struck and injured by another car early Friday, Nassau County police said.

Neither the victim, who was exiting her car in a parking lot at 852 N. Broadway, nor the driver of the other vehicle, a 60-year-old woman, was identified by police.

The victim was taken to a hospital with "extensive bodily trauma," police said in a news release. Police did not have specific information on her injuries.

The driver was in a 2006 Toyota sedan when she struck the victim at about 6:50 a.m., police said.

Detectives reported no apparent criminality in the accident, the release said, and the Toyota was impounded for a safety inspection.
