Woman struck by LIRR train

A woman was struck by a Long Island Rail Road train in Queens, Tuesday night, causing temporary delays and cancellations in both directions on the Port Washington Branch, officials said.

The woman was taken alive from the accident site at the Douglaston LIRR station to Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, according to Aaron Donovan, a railroad spokesman.
