A worker who fell eight to 10 feet Monday at a construction site in Syosset is in the emergency unit at Nassau University Medical Center, a spokeswoman for the East Meadow hospital said.

The unidentified worker is expected to be admitted to the medical-surgical floor in serious but stable condition, the spokeswoman said. She did not have any other details.

Nassau County police responded to the site after getting an emergency call at about 10:49 a.m.

The site is located on Jericho Turnpike near Florence Avenue -- and police said emergency services unit officers and ambulance crews responded to the call.

A police spokeswoman had no further information on the incident.
