Growing up in the South Bronx, Joe O'Brien's life revolved around the Yankees. Nearly every day after school, he'd run the few blocks to the stadium, buy a 55-cent bleacher seat and watch his idols: Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio and Lou Gehrig. At 12, he was in the stands as Gehrig announced his retirement in 1939.
And Friday night, the 82-year-old from South Hempstead will be glued to the screen...
