Anne Mead, trailblazer in Suffolk politics, dies at 86
Anne Mead, a trailblazing Democratic lawyer who served as Suffolk's first deputy county executive, the county's first woman judge and later the first woman to chair the Public Service Commission, has died. She was 86.
Mead died Tuesday at Mercy Centre Hospital in Rockville Centre from complications after recent abdominal surgery.
