Bobbie Lee Holmes, who fought racism, dies
Bobbie Lee Holmes, a schoolteacher who challenged racism when her family moved to an all-white neighborhood in Los Angeles a half-century ago, has died. She was 84.
Holmes died in Petaluma on Sept. 19 of complications from heart and kidney disease, her son, Emory Holmes II, told the Los Angeles Times.
