Bronx residents stand in solidarity with victims of Newtown tragedy

Organizers collected signatures for a gun control petition to be sent to Mayor Bloomberg.

THE BRONX - Residents gathered at the Bronx Supreme Courthouse to stand in solidarity with those killed in the Newtown, Conn. massacre last Friday.

The vigil featured prayer, candles and the reading of the names of the victims killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Vigil organizers also collected signatures for a petition on gun control to send to Mayor Michael Bloomberg, as well as officials in Washington.
