GREENWICH - People in southwestern Connecticut and across the nation are honoring those killed in Friday's school shooting by committing 26 acts of kindness, one for each victim.

The idea was spurred by journalist Ann Curry, who shared it on Twitter.

In Greenwich, residents at Family Centers and students at North Mianus School say they are following her prompt especially because of the holidays.

Some people have reached out by purchasing coffee for strangers or sending thank you notes to local first responders.
