SANDY HOOK - A father of a fourth grader who heard the gunshots and screams from classmates at Sandy Hook Elementary School shared his daughter's traumatic experience.

Tom Pellicone’s 9-year-old daughter was in gym class at Sandy Hook Elementary School when the massacre inside the school began.

The daughter said that she heard screaming and gunfire. At one point, her class gathered in a supply closet until it was safe to come out.

Pellicone later found his daughter at the nearby firehouse.

“I think you just do the best you can try to figure it out day by day,” said Pellicone about the coming hard weeks the community faces.
