Some Newtown police asking for more time

The union says many officers who responded to Sandy Hook are now unable to work.

NEWTOWN - The union that represents police officers in Newtown is pushing to make more help available for those who responded to the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

A union official says some have been affected so severely by what they saw that they are not able to work.

Many are using sick time but could soon be at risk of going without a paycheck.
