Post hosted WNYC's "Morning Music" from 1982 to 2001. He returned to the station in 2002 to host "The No Show," a quirky combination of music and commentary.

Post began his professional career at New York's WBAI radio starting in 1965.

The Bronx native said he loved radio since he was a boy.

He'd make pretend radio shows on his father's recorder, creating personalities and talking to them.

A description on the WNYC website celebrated the irreverent Post as "a world-class curmudgeon" with a decades-long "cult following."
