Police: North Baldwin man dies in Southern State crash

State Police have identified Timothy Kearney, 23, of North Baldwin as the driver killed in a one-car accident on the Southern State Parkway early Saturday. Kearney was driving westbound when his Toyota Camry went into the center median and struck the guardrail, police said. The car overturned and hit a tree before catching on fire. He was pronounced dead at the scene, between Exits 20 and 21, at about 4:20 a.m., police said. Police investigating the crash are asking any witnesses to call 516-561-8883.
