There were no scrums of national political reporters detailing her every move, just a local television crew and a couple of area scribes. Instead of crisscrossing battleground states searching for votes, there was a five-hour tour of the East End.
And instead of speeches on health care, foreign policy or the economy, the focus was squarely on Long Island and federal funding for its needs.
