Deal eludes NY Senate leaders

ALBANY - A deal to end the stalemate in the State Senate eluded leaders in a 30-minute negotiating session Thursday, though one side said progress had been made.

Sen. Dean Skelos (R- Rockville Centre) and Sen. Sen. Pedro Espada Jr. (D-Bronx), leaders of the June 8 coup that upended the Senate, described the meeting as productive and said another would occur soon.
