Paumanok Vineyards hosts its fourth annual, family-style lamb roast on Friday, Aug. 22. The winery partners with ilili restaurant in Manhattan for the event.
Chef Philippe Massoud of ilili, a Mediterranean restaurant, is the nephew of Charles Massoud, co-owner of Paumanok. The alfresco dinner will include 12 Paumanok wines.

The Long Island Farm Bureau is hosting a day of local produce, wine and food competitions at the Suffolk County Farm in Yaphank on Friday, Aug. 8. Authentic Sicilian cuisine was the hallmark of Sicilia Risturanti, which opened in Levittown two years ago. The restaurant, which received a two-and-a-half star rating in June of 2012, has closed.

The crushed tomato, fresh mozzarella and basil-topped "mama's old-fashioned" pizza at Sacramone’s Italian Restaurant in East Meadow made it into Newsday's "Pizza: 10 Long Island Pies Worth the Drive." Downtown restaurants in Port Washington were open Wednesday after a fatal explosion and fire at a nearby residence Tuesday night..
