Paterson, Senate leaders try to resolve impasse

ALBANY - Gov. David A. Paterson Wednesday initiated another round of private meetings in hopes of breaking the impasse in the State Senate.

Emerging from a 20-minute session, Sen. Dean Skelos (R- Rockville Centre), the new majority leader, and Pedro Espada Jr. (D-Bronx), temporary Senate president, described the governor as "impartial."
