Senate leaders won't budge after meeting Paterson
No agreement was announced Friday to break the monthlong State Senate deadlock, with leaders emerging from a meeting with Gov. David A. Paterson to repeat proposals made weeks ago.
However, both sides came together briefly to mark the 80th birthday of Sen. Owen Johnson (R- West Babylon). He received a standing ovation during the 12th special session called by Paterson.
