At the height of election season, the Clintons make their way into the news stream again. Sen. Charles Schumer chose this weekend to express support for a Hillary Clinton presidential run in 2016. If President Barack Obama's approval ratings fall low enough, then who knows -- maybe the whole New York State Democratic crew will start reminding everyone that they were for Sen. Clinton back in 2008 when you-know-who beat her.

Six months ago, New York's other Democratic senator, Kirsten Gillibrand, signed up on the Hillary bandwagon-in-formation. In Nassau, former President Bill Clinton recently stumped for Democratic county executive candidate Thomas Suozzi (just as former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani endorsed incumbent GOP candidate Edward Mangano and other regional Republicans).

In Virginia, the ex-president campaigned for Terry McAuliffe, the former Democratic national chairman running for governor. And Hillary Clinton did a fundraiser for New York City mayoral candidate Bill de Blasio. Collecting chits?
